The Tuareg People are a group or tribe of people, which live in the Sahara Desert in North Africa , moving about when the seasons change throughout the duration of the year. These people are known as the Nomadic inhabitants of North Africa. The word Tuareg is basically an arabic term meaning abandoned by god. The Tuareg people dislike that term and tend to call themselves Imohag, which translated means free men. The Saharan regions that the Tuareg inhabit the areas of Niger, Mali, Libya, Algeria and Burkina Faso. It is really hard for us to identify when or how the Tuareg People came to the Sahara Desert. They are usually travelling looking for water and pastures so that their camels, goats or sheep can take a rest. To keep cool they usually wear loose robes (above).
