The Tuareg have indeed adapted to many changes throughout the 20th century. One of these changes are climate change, which has affected the Tuareg severely and continues to be an emerging threat to their population. There are some minor conflict issues but they can affect the Tuareg People in a big way. Also to add on to climate change the weather's variability is extremely high, making it hard for the Tuareg to properly know when to shift. Also some industrial processes and political processes have made it difficult for the Tuareg to lead their life and migrate from rural-urban areas around the desert. They have adapted to this change by utilising modern materials to help them in handicraft. But for climate variability it seems as if they can tell because of rain, it isn't very likely, but they actually pack up their tents while its raining and can drink the rainwater, which is fresh, helping this arid environment a great deal, with the exception of oases. The Tuareg can tell seasons by various plants and animals, basically many environmental changes throughout the year. While climate variability is a big issue another issue that arises is rural-urban migration, which can ruin their changes of building camp and can cause them to go outside their lifestyle and culture.
